From Work to Party

"I may look good for my age, but I wasn't born yesterday." Jessica Pearson (Suits)

Ahhh! I love Jessica Pearson from Suits! She's beautiful, smart and a very strong woman. If you don't watch this show, I'm telling you now, "you're missing out a great show". Seriously!

Anyways... In this post I wanted to show you how I styled this flowy trousers. It's pretty simple. White shirt and high heels. Done! lol.

These flowing cropped trousers are a great way to wear a trend without getting too much attention. Or should I take that back?! Because I got a lot of compliments from them. lol These pants are so versatile and they give you a super cool and chic look. From day to night outfit. Just dress them up with some sexy heels for an after work event. Oh, and did I mention they are so comfortable?!

You might have noticed or not, I wasn't wearing my engagement ring here. We had to get it re-sized. Because I have tiny fingers. haha!

So there you go, my latest fab find! Would love to hear from you guys to see what you think, so please drop me a message below or send me an e-mail. Much love!!!

The Proposal

"Veux-tu m'épouser?"

Or “Will you marry me?” in French...

We're engaged! Woo hoo! Let me tell you guys the story what happened that day.

First stop was Notre Dame de Paris also known as "Notre-Dame Cathedral, is a historic Catholic Cathedral widely considered to be the one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture, it is among the largest and most well-known church buildings in the world."

Excuse our crooked heart. Lol! We are not good at this.

Next is the Paris Love Locks at Pont des Arts Bridge. Couples use a padlock and lock it to a bridge, fence, gate or similar public fixture with their names or initials on it to symbolize their unbreakable love.

And if you're wondering if we put a padlock, no we didn't.

"Montmartre is primarily known for the white-domed Basilica of the Sacré-CÅ“ur on its summit and as a nightclub district. The other, older, church on the hill is Saint Pierre de Montmartre, which claims to be the location at which the Jesuit order of priests was founded."

Found some cute souvenirs from the village. I recommend wearing comfortable shoes if you're going to visit this area because of the cobbled streets and it is quite steep.

A dream unfolded... I can finally cross it off my list. Paris the city of lights... The city of love. My fiancé (sounds weird) popped the question on top of the Eiffel Tower. How cliche?! lol But getting engaged in the city of love, on top of the world, hey I'm not complaining at all! :) Watch the video below to see or hear how he asked.

My beautiful ring is from Fame Diamonds. They do custom designed jewelry. Check them out to see some of their lovely pieces.

So after I said "YES", we went to a sightseeing cruise of the Seine River. Funny story though... I guess I was still jet lagged, I fell asleep half way through. lol Still a very romantic experience. It gives you the overall idea of the monuments in Paris. Also a great way to give your legs a break from walking.

Paris holds a special place in my heart. Audrey Hepburn was right. Paris is always a good idea. I will definitely come back.

This trip has been the best trip of my life and it wouldn't be as amazing without the help of our friend Jayson Bachubira. Thank you so much again! If you guys are visiting Paris make sure you contact him for any transportation service you need.

And below is the video. I still get that (I can't even explain) feeling every time I watch it. Ahhh love!!! Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you again on my next post. Xoxo

Weekend getaway on Victoria Island

"You who lift a penny, from the gutter, & with the same hand, point out stars, find me."
- Carla Funk,Victoria's first poet laureate

Two weeks ago, my boyfriend and I went to Victoria Island, BC to meet up with his parents that are visiting from the Carribean. Victoria Island is beautiful. Fresh air, art and amazing architecture, lovely people and so much more.

We took the BC Ferries from Tssawwassen, BC. Fares are $16.90/person plus $55.40 for the vehicle. It was an hour and a half ferry ride. It felt shorter because we were taking pictures and had a quick bite in the ferry. There are also shops that you can get some souvenirs, gifts or something for yourself.

Behind me is one of the oldest and most famous hotels in Victoria, The Fairmont Empress or The Empress. This hotel is facing the harbour, the Empress has become an iconic symbol for the city itself. We didn't stay in this hotel, but we had a free place to stay which was really close to it. Free is always better anyways. Lol!

The Empress during the day.

And here it is at night.

Another historical building that I fell in love with is The Parliament Building. :x It is diagonally across The Empress and also facing the harbour. A statue of Queen Victoria is standing in the front lawn of the building, which we forgot to take a photo of. Fail! #-o

Look at that structure! Isn't beautiful?! 8->

The Parliament at night. Breathtaking...

Went for a run on Sunday morning and this was our view. :) It was a little gloomy, but still really warm.

After going for a run, we decided to go for a drive and checked out the houses by the water. We also found this little gem of coffee shops/bakeries called Pure Vanilla Bakery & Cafe. Coffee and pastries were delicious! We sat in the patio at the back and enjoyed our cafe mocha and pastries. I will definitely come back and highly recommend this place to everyone.

For our last day we had lunch at this vegetarian restaurant called Rebar. I am not a vegetarian, but I really liked the food here. I had the Spicy Peanut Noodle Bowl (carrot, onion, sweet pepper, scallion, asian greens, cilantro and thai basil with spicy peanut sauce and fresh noodles finished with lime and crushed peanuts). Sounds yummy right?!

While my boyfriend had the Mushroom & Swiss Almond Burger (almond-vegetable patty, grilled and served on a multi grain bun with grilled onions and mushrooms, swiss cheese, horseradish mayo, lettuce and dill pickle slice. Served with potato wedges).

So that was the summary of our mini vacay on the island. If you are visiting Vancouver, I highly recommend checking out Victoria Island too. Or even if you just want to get away from the city and have a mini vacay like us, Victoria Island is the perfect place for you.

Thanks for stopping by again! Please leave a comment below and let me know what you think. Much love!!!
